I was reading the article July 28 about the pine tree in Judy Johnson’s front yard in Auburn. The tree has been weakened by insects and must be cut down.

What a sad thing that was for me. As a young girl, I used to climb that once perfectly formed, majestic pine tree many times while growing up in that beautiful old home.

My folks owned the home from 1940, when they were first married, until 1975, and I lived there my whole life until my marriage in 1965 to Robert Neal.

The Youngs Corner home will not look the same without that pine in the front yard.

Sorry to see it go.
