LISBON — Shauna Rae Riordan, a recent graduate of Lisbon High School, was honored to be contacted by Miss Mackenzie Davis to represent Lisbon in the Miss Maine USA pageant.

“Being the optimist I am, I looked at this opportunity as a way to, not get ahead in life, but be an inspiration to the many girls growing up in surrounding areas,” Riordan said. “Being a small-town farm girl, tomboy and underdog, I looked into the pageant not as a vanity show, but as a way to encourage others and take another step in fulfilling my life.

The pageant will be held mid-November. In the meantime, Riordan will be at the following events: The American Cancer Society Bark For Life, which takes place Saturday, Aug. 20, at the Auburn Mall; and the Susan G. Komen 5k Race for the Cure in September.
