Quilting bee
LIVERMORE — A 19th century quilting bee will be held at the historic setting of the Washburn-Norlands Living History Center from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 5, 6 and 7.
Visitors are welcome to participate in preparing and finishing quilts, guided by the museum interpreters. No experience is needed. Discounted reproduction fabrics will be on sale. Antique quilts will be on display.
Visitors may bring a picnic and go for a short hike to the reflecting pools. Lemonade and cookies will be served. A $5 donation will help the nonprofit museum. No reservations are necessary. For more information about the museum, visit www.norlands.org.
