OXFORD — Thompson Lake Environmental Association will hold its annual meeting from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, at the Station House Community Center.
The association will host the event and provide coffee and refreshments. There will be items on sale as well as a raffle of the Thompson Lake woven throw, a handmade loon trivet and an original framed photograph by Kathy Cain, co-president of TLEA. There will also be a pair of tickets to the fifth All-American Barbecue at Agassiz Village Camp.
Keynote speakers will be Jim Pitman, new owner of the Robinson Marina in Oxford and summer resident of Beechwoods on the Lake, and Rick Micklon, Otisfield selectman and TLEA member. The topics consecutively will be “A look at the New Robinson Marina and Future Plans” and Thompson Lake water levels and the Robinson Mill Dam.
Also speaking will be Jeff Sterns, environmental consultant and grant writer for the Sebago Lakes Environmental Association and Thompson Lake Environmental Association. He will report on the status of the Federal 319 grant for erosion control in Otisfield.
Dr. Scott Bernardy and Rob McVety, milfoil eradication crew chief, will report on the milfoil eradication project. Directors will be nominated and elected for the next two years and committee reports will be given by the chairpersons.
All interested persons in Thompson Lake and its water shed and friends are invited.
