PORTLAND — The 62nd Holy Convocation of the Maine Jurisdiction, Church of God in Christ, will be held Tuesday to Saturday, Aug. 9 to 13. “Official Day” will be Saturday, Aug. 13, at Williams Temple Church, Church of God in Christ, at 274 Terrace Ave.

Theme of the convocation is “Catch the Vision and Run with It.”

Opening night will get under way at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, with guest preacher Bishop Charles H. Brewer II of New Haven, Conn.

A workshop, “The 9 Laws of Financial Transformation,” will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, with facilitator Elder William V. Thompson, CPA, of Greensboro, N.C.

Guest preacher Elder Horace W. Pritchett II of Clayton, N.J., will preach at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10.

Youth Night will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11.

Women’s Day will start at 8 a.m. Friday, Aug. 12, with a walk at Back Bay, Baxter Boulevard. A visit to Barron Center nursing home, 1145 Brighton Ave., will take place at 10 a.m. A discussion and review of the book “Redemption” will be held at noon. “Flame Hour” will be at 6 p.m. and evening worship service at 7.

Mother Willie Mae Rivers, general supervisor, Women’s Department, Church of God in Christ, Inc., will be the special guest.

“Official Day,” Saturday, Aug. 13, will start at noon with Pastor and Prelate Bishop Steve Coleman.
