AUBURN — Jane M. Sullivan, 80, of 77 Old Greene Road, Lewiston, died Thursday, Aug. 4, one day after her birthday, at Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, following a brief illness.

She was born in Lewiston, Aug. 3, 1931, a daughter of the late Daniel and Mary Hobart Sullivan. She was educated in Lewiston schools and received her GED from Lewiston High School when she was in her 50s. Jane worked at the Bates Mill and local shoe factories and later went to work at Tuft Bros., until her retirement.

She enjoyed working around the house and always stated “I don’t have time to be bored.” She also liked gardening, going to the ocean and was an avid reader. She was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish at Holy Family Church and attended the Paraclete Prayer Group for many years.

Jane did not have any immediate family, but she created her own circle of friends and had the love and support of her extended family in the halls of Alcoholic Anonymous for almost 20 years.

She is survived by her life long companion, Linda A. Emond; her beloved pet, Sirus; and all of Lorraine Carter’s family, where she spent many holidays and was still close to them after Lorraine’s passing in April 2003; and many “special” friends she made along her journey.

She was also predeceased by two baby brothers; and her longtime roommate, Lorraine Carter.

The family wishes to thank the staff of the Androscoggin Hospice House and a special thanks to Bambi for being there for Linda and all the friends who gave love and support during this difficult time.
