I often wonder — where is society heading? As I observe day-to-day life, I keep asking myself — why?

Life is too fast.

People who have jobs are expected to do too much and are not happy in their work.

Food at the supermarkets is not really healthy.

A lot of suicides are happening among the young and military personnel.

Gasoline is higher-priced than ever, yet oil companies are making more profit than ever.

Jails are overflowing.

Our system of government seems to favor corporations more than people.

The country is in wars that never stop.

What can people do as Americans for themselves and for the sake of their grandchildren?

I believe that President Barack Obama is a good man and a good leader, and I feel he has done his best to encourage our representatives to work together for the common good. He hasn’t had much cooperation and support.

Everyone is important and deserves a decent living in this country.

I keep hoping for good changes.
