READFIELD — Ruth Townsend, 98, died Aug. 2.

She was born May 28, 1913, the daughter of Ernest and Myrtle Townsend.

She is survived by nieces and nephews, Linwood Townsend, Richard Townsend, and Holly Dumaine; great nieces and nephews, Kim and Steve Byers, Tammy Townsend, Leslie Townsend Boyer, Jenny Townsend, Meredith Townsend Cohen, Robin Townsend, Bronwyn Townsend, Christopher Dumains, Eben Dumaine, and Holly Randall; Great-great nieces & nephews, Annie and Ben Byers, and Mallory and Jack Boyer.
