Annual supper

NORWAY — The Heywood Club annual public supper will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, at the club on Crockett Ridge. Adults will cost $7; children under 5, $3. The menu will comprise of chicken pies, baked beans, casseroles, rolls and homemade pies.

Fair meeting

NORTH WATERFORD — The Waterford World’s Fair members will meet at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 14, at the fairgrounds on the Green Road. President Dana Hemingway is asking all department heads and chairpersons to attend and give a report on how everything was handled for the fair.

All members are encouraged to attend and give their feedback. Hemingway said now is the time to start planning for next year’s fair.

Legion barbecue

SOUTH PARIS — Foster Carroll Post 72, American Legion, will hold its annual picnic/barbecue at the home of Sarah Glynn Little at noon Sunday, Aug. 14.

All members of the post and auxiliary are invited to attend. Members of the military and their spouses who wish to join or transfer to Post 72 and the auxiliary are welcome.

The menu will include hot dogs, hamburgers, corn on the cob and watermelon. A pool is available. Call Audrey for directions at 743-1643.

Annual  ball game

SOUTH PARIS — The fifth annual Police vs. Firefighters Softball Game will take place at 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 14, at Gouin Field. There will be a dunk tank, 50/50 and snacks. Tickets, $3, are available at the Norway, South Paris and Oxford police and fire departments, the REACH office or at the gate. Kids age 12 and under are free. Proceeds will benefit REACH.
