OXFORD — The Oxford Historical Society will host its third annual quilt show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, at the Center Meeting House at the junction of Rtes. 26 and 121 in Welchville.

There will be quilts of all sizes and patterns, some vintage, some new, some machine stitched, some hand stitched as well as other quilted items. The old pews in the historic building will be used to display the quilts. Some will be hung from the balcony.

Each quilt will have a form on it to tell who made it or owns it and what pattern if  known. Last year there were more than 105 quilts brought for display.

The suggested donation is $5, with proceeds going to the society.

Quilt registration will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Friday, Aug. 12, and pick-up will take place from 3 to 4 p.m. after the show on Saturday.

The society will hold a quilt raffle and bake sale as well as sell postcards and history books of the town. A local vendor will have items available at the show. Members  also hope to have demonstrations set up.
