BOSTON — Rebecca “Becky” Eve (Dubois) Williams, 28, of Waterville passed away Monday, Aug. 8, at Brigham and Woman’s Hospital, after a courageous battle with AML Leukemia, with her family by her side.
Becky was born in Lewiston, Jan. 31, 1983, the daughter of Michael and Mariann (Smith) Dubois. She attended Waterville schools, and graduated from Waterville High School in 2001. While in high school, she was a four year starter in soccer. Three out of four years they made it to the state finals, something she was proud of. She looked forward to teaching her children the game.
She then attended the University of Maine at Orono, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Child Development and Family Relations in 2006. She was later employed at the Margaret Murphy Center, a special needs school. She was a “one on one” teacher for children with autism. Becky loved her work and the children.
Her greatest passion in life was her family. She loved children at an early age, and was blessed with two beautiful girls, Abigail “Abby” Eve, who was born July 14, 2005, and Sadie Elizabeth, who was born Aug. 20, 2007. She married the love of her life, and father of her children, Adam J. Williams on Jan. 31, 2009. It was the greatest birthday present she ever had. Becky’s motto was “Family is Everything.”
Becky loved family trips to the ocean. The last trip was taken on July 14, when she and the girls, along with her mother, and grandmother went to Popham Beach for Abby’s birthday. She loved to go shopping, and called it retail therapy. Her favorite store was Maurice’s. She enjoyed scrapbooking, and especially took pride in making gifts for family and friends. She loved writing in her journals and kept them up for many years.
Becky is survived by her loving husband, Adam J. Williams; her two daughters, Abby and Sadie Williams, all of Waterville; her grandmother, Evangeline Smith of East Auburn; her mother, Mariann Plourde and stepdad, Dan Plourde, of Waterville; her father, Michael Dubois of Auburn; her brother, William “Bill” Dubois and wife, Trisha and their children, Emma and Ryan of Wales; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Roger and Sally Dubois; and an uncle, David Dubois.
The family would like to thank Dr. Richard Stone, and Dr. Vincent Ho, and all the wonderful nurses at the Brigham and Woman’s Hospital, for their loving care and compassion.
