PARIS — A Sebago man has been charged with sexually assaulting a young girl in June in Denmark and Porter.

Damon R. Jordan, 30, of 13 Heart Road faces two counts of gross sexual assault, a Class A crime punishable by up to 40 years in prison.

Jordan didn’t enter a plea to the charges. He was released Monday on $500 cash bail. He must stay away from the alleged victim and avoid alcohol and drug use.

The charges stem from two incidents alleged to have happened in June 2011 in Denmark and Porter. Jordan was charged with assaulting a girl under 14 years old, according to Capt. Hart Daley of the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office. Daley investigated the case and arrested Jordan on Friday.

Daley wrote that he received the case on July 6. The case was initially opened by Deputy William Nelson of the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office.

According to a report by Daley, both the girl and another witness said Jordan sexually assaulted her. Daley’s report said Jordan admitted to one of the incidents but not the other.

“Jordan admitted to drinking heavily during the last few months due to family problems and stated he barely remembered anything he had done,” Daley’s report said.

Daley wrote that when he told Jordan he was under arrest, Jordan did not want to submit to arrest until Daley warned him he would use his Taser if Jordan resisted.

Jordan is due in Oxford County Superior Court at 8:30 a.m. on Oct. 14.
