FARMINGTON — A woman remained hospitalized Wednesday after her vehicle ran over her legs late Tuesday afternoon in Walmart’s parking lot.
Edith Leblanc, 87, of Livermore Falls was in stable condition Wednesday morning, a hospital representative said.
Leblanc received abrasions to her legs, police reported, and was transported to Franklin Memorial Hospital by NorthStar ambulance.
She apparently started her vehicle in the store lot and noticed the trunk was not closed. Then she opened the door and got out without putting the vehicle in park, Bonnie Pomeroy, Police Department secretary said.
The open door knocked her down and the vehicle ran over her legs in the 5 p.m. incident at the store on the Wilton Road.
A good Samaritan saw what was happening and jumped into the 2004 Hyundai sedan and put it in park. The vehicle was not damaged, she said.
Farmington police and NorthStar Emergency Medical Service were called to the scene.
