FARMINGTON — Elizabeth “Betty” Perkins, 92, of Farmington passed away peacefully at Edgewood Rehabilitation & Living Center surrounded by her family on Thursday, Aug. 11.

She was born Sept. 13, 1918, in Wenham, Mass., the daughter of William and Eunice (Herrick) Porter. She attended Beverly High and then Copley Fashion School in Boston. Betty married Robert Perkins Oct. 4, 1940, he passed in 1994.

She worked at General Electric in Lynn, Mass., while Bob served over seas during World War II. After the war, she was a homemaker raising a daughter and a son. Betty and Bob moved to Farmington in 1955. Betty worked at Howards Rexall and then for Howard Strang Jr.’s Dental practice until her retirement.

She was a member of the Fairbanks Union Church, The Hospital Extension, and also volunteered at Franklin Memorial Hospital. Betty loved chocolate, animals, flowers, and was a fabulous cook. She was also a great seamstress and enjoyed making handmade clothes and quilts.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Barbara Wheeler and her husband, Charles, of New Sharon; her son, Gary Perkins and his wife, Sharon, of Glen, N.H.; two grandchildren, Chad Wheeler and his wife, Megan and Heidi DeLuca and her husband, Gianluca; and four great-grandchildren, Addison and Aubrey Wheeler and Stefania and Raffaela DeLuca.

She was predeceased by her husband, Bob; and her sister, Lydia.
