FARMINGTON — The pet of the week at Franklin County Animal Shelter is Cheyanne, a beautiful terrier/Lab mix. She is about two years old and weighs about 70 pounds. She seems to do well with cats and most other dogs. Cheyanne would best be suited in a home with children over the age of eight, as she just doesn’t realize how big she is. Cheyanne loves long walks on the beach, snuggling at sunset and a good scratch.

New dogs at the shelter include a German shepherd mix from Jay, a beagle mix from Farmington and a beagle mix from Jay.

The shelter announces that it has begun microchipping. Very soon, all animals that are adopted from the shelter will have a microchip that contains the animal health history and owner contact information.
