OTISFIELD — Residents and property owners in Otisfield have an opportunity to learn more about the town’s shoreland zoning on Saturday.

The Thompson Lake Environmental Association is holding a house meeting on Aug. 20 to discuss shoreland zoning regulations. Otisfield Code Enforcement Officer Richard St. John will be the featured speaker.

Landowners can learn what land-use practices are allowed in the shoreland zone, and why. The TLEA has been fighting soil erosion, which carries phosphorus into lakes and can feed algae blooms.

The meeting is at 10 a.m. Saturday at 73 Loop Road in Otisfield. Project coordinator Jeff Stern is asking those interested in attending to RSVP at [email protected] or call him at 583-2723.
