JAY – One-way signs are being removed from Otis Street in an effort to accommodate traffic and road construction work on Main Street in the Chisholm area, Town Manager Ruth Cushman said. The street will have two-way traffic to alleviate some of the congestion.
“This is a test to see if this will work,” she said. “Many people are already using this as a two-way street and there does not seem to be any issue with it. If for some reason this does not work out we will review it at a later date.”
A 1.1 mile section of Route 4, also Main Street from Bridge Street in Livermore Falls to Pineau Street is being rebuilt. New water and sewer lines are being installed at the same time.
