NORWAY — The Norway Memorial Library board of trustees invite the public to a reception from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, for outgoing Library Director Ann Siekman and incoming Director Beth Kane.
Siekman is retiring after 30 years at the library and Kane is beginning her tenure as the new director after six years as the information and reference services coordinator. There will be a short program at 6 p.m.
In addition, the trustees announce the establishment of the Lifelong Learning Fund in recognition of Siekman’s 30 years of service to the library. The fund is intended to support special programs and projects that encourage people of all ages to explore ideas, expand horizons, discover and build connections for a lifetime of reading and learning.
Donations to the fund may be mailed to the Norway Memorial Library, 258 Main St., Norway, ME 04268. For more information, contact Beth Kane at 743-5309, ext. 2.
