JAY — Selectmen elected Amy Gould on Monday as vice chairman of the Board of Selectmen.
They also accepted the resignation of Warren Bryant as a selectman as of Aug. 2.
Bryant said previously that he thought it was a good time to resign from public service since there is a lull in activity. He has served on many town committees and worked in town departments including law enforcement for years.
“He’s going to be missed. He’s done a very good job,” Chairman Steve McCourt said.
Selectmen agreed to set a special election on Tuesday, Nov. 8, for someone to finish out the remaining two years on Bryant’s term.
Nomination papers are now available at the town office.
