LEWISTON — Therese (Blais) Morin, 86 of Lewiston died Tuesday, Aug. 16, at Central Maine Medical Center after a short illness surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Lewiston, Aug. 2, 1925, daughter of the late Joseph and Marie Anna Laflamme Blais. She was educated in Lewiston schools and graduated from St. Dominic High School in 1942. She married Rene L. Morin on July 17, 1943, and he predeceased her Jan. 1, 1982.
Mrs. Morin worked for many years at the Hill Division of Bates Manufacturing until her retirement. She continued to provide day care for many of her grandchildren after retirement.
Therese loved French music, word search puzzles, reading, but most of all being with her family.
She is survived by her children, Laurier Morin and wife, Connie, Marcel Morin and wife, Lillian, all of Lewiston, Richard Morin and his partner, Paul Toussignant, of New Gloucester, Patricia Cote and husband, Ronald, Rene Morin and wife, Pauline, Donald Morin and wife, Cheryl, and Jacqueline Hamann and husband, Claude, all of Lewiston; her extended family includes 18 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Priscilla Blais; several nieces and nephews; and a special cousin, Robert Gilbert and wife, Pauline.
Mrs. Morin was predeceased by her husband; a grandson, Nicholas Hamann; a great-grandson, Spencer Morin; and a brother, Paul Blais.
The family wants to acknowledge the phenomenal nursing staff at CMMC T-3 as well as all of Therese’s doctors and respiratory therapists. She may be gone from our sight; but she will be forever in our hearts and memories.
