LEWISTON — The Broad Street Band will play at Fastbreaks on Saturday, Aug. 20, and at the Auburn Plaza on Sunday, Aug. 21, during the Great Falls Balloon Festival.
Broad Street will begin playing at Fastbreaks at 8 p.m., and during the second set two members of the New Jersey-based band No Frills will take the stage for a reunion gig. No Frills members Joseph Mezzina, a drummer and resident of Boonton, N.J., and John Longinetti, a bass player now based in Falmouth, have been playing together for 17 years in New Jersey-based bands Assassin, Redline, Rampage and Faust.
No Frills performed on the New Jersey pub circuit for 10 years before disbanding in 2006 when Longinetti relocated to Maine on business.
Longinetti has been playing bass guitar and singing for more than 20 years and is a member of Under The Covers, a band based in Portland. Mezzina has been drumming for 25-plus years.
Saturday’s show at Fastbreaks and Sunday’s 6 p.m. performance at the Auburn Plaza are free.
