The Dixfield Police Department responded to 66 incidents from Aug. 1 to Aug. 18. Sgt. Jeffery Howe stated that they have been on a busy string of calls for service, including thefts, in the past two weeks.
Among the incidents since Aug. 1 were:
Thefts
* On Aug. 2 at 2 p.m. a rental property owner reported a theft from a rental property on Main Street. Items were believed to have been taken by tenants who had recently moved out of the building. Among the stolen items were a microwave, two couches, a washer, a step ladder, a mattress and other miscellaneous items.
* On Aug. 2 at 3:30 p.m. a resident on Rollins Ridge Road reported three pneumatic nail guns, a miter saw and construction staging were stolen from the property. Estimated value of the stolen goods is $3,000.
* On Aug. 7 at 5:50 p.m. a Canton Point Road resident reported the theft of a fiberglass extension ladder valued at $225.
* On Aug. 14 at 3:15 p.m. a Main Street resident reported that in between Aug. 6 and Aug. 14 a 2001 blue Dodge Durango with commercial plate 620730 and a smiley face sticker in the back window was stolen from the property.
* On Aug. 16 at 2:40 p.m. a Main Street resident reported that someone stole food from her refrigerator and also stole a small portable CD player, a Dale Earnhardt coin and a trinket box. Estimated value of the stolen goods is $125.
Arrests
* Shawn Comeau, 29, of Mexico, violation of a bail condition, on Pine Street on Aug. 14 at 11:45 a.m. Comeau was arrested by Officer Eric Bernier and was transported to Oxford County Jail without incident.
* Erik Perry, 40, of Dixfield, OUI, failure to stop for an officer, and operating after suspension, on Weld Street on Aug. 10 at 9:30 p.m. Perry was arrested by officer Dustin Broughton and transported to Oxford County Jail without incident.
