NEW LONDON, Conn. — Brittany Smyth, a 2007 graduate of the Gilbert School in Winsted, Conn., has graduated magna cum laude from Mitchell College with a GPA of 3.8.

Smyth majored in hospitality and tourism and event planning. She is the daughter of Becky Smyth of Winsted and the late Terence Smyth and the granddaughter of George and Carole Haley of Rangeley, Maine.
