This letter is in response to Stacy Dostie’s letter, printed July 30. In it, Dostie talks about the Democrats’ “Get Real Maine” tour.
I commend Democrats for finally realizing that they are out of touch with reality and the working people of Maine. Dostie professes that they are going to show the people real leadership.
If the past eight years are an example of what Dostie defines as leadership (i.e., stealing from state workers’ pension funds, cutting funding to schools and raising taxes on working people), I will pass, thank you.
I told her during the campaign that standing in a crowd saying “me, too, me, too,” is not being a leader.
In her letter, she said that elected representatives need to listen to the people. I wholeheartedly agree with her on that. In November, the people of Sabattus and Greene sent Dostie a loud and clear message — you are fired.
