AUBURN — Marie Anna Fabrizio, 78, of 121 High St., Auburn, died peacefully with her family and special friend, Carol Fortier, by her side at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice on Wednesday, Aug. 24.
She was born in Lewiston, May 4, 1933, the daughter of Alcide and Marie Gagne Fournier. Educated in local schools, she was a graduate of St. Dominic Regional High School, Class of 1951. She went to work in 1951 as a bookkeeper for A. H. Benoit & Co., retiring as a manager in 1989.
In 1957, she married Adelmo Fabrizio, who passed away on Oct. 15, 1990. A member of the former St. Patrick’s Church, she also was active in the St. Patrick’s Rosary Sodality and the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
Marie enjoyed reading, listening to country music, attending plays, volunteering, good food, socializing, and always loved a good joke.
Survivors include a stepson, Dennis and wife, Lorrana Fabrizio of Lewiston; three stepdaughters, Adele Fabrizio of Auburn, Carol Ann and husband, John Upham, of Byfield, Mass., and Gail Fabrizio of Atlanta, Ga.; eight stepgrandchildren; eight stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and close friends.
Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two sisters, Jeannine Polley and Simonne Walulick.
The family thanks the staff of the hospice house for their loving care they provided Marie during her final days.
