LIVERMORE FALLS — Two candidates for sewer treatment superintendent/chief operator will be interviewed by a town committee Monday.

The interviews will be conducted in executive session beginning at 5 p.m. Aug. 29 at the town office, Town Manager Kristal Flagg said. More than two selectmen are expected to attend, she said.

The committee interviewed a third candidate Thursday because that person could not make it next Monday, Flagg said.

The town received 12 applications for the position held by Kent Mitchell of Jay, who plans to retire next spring, Flagg said. Mitchell will train his successor.

Town officials are holding off filling a vacant helper/laborer position for the department for now, Flagg said. It was held by Nels Hawkins, who resigned to take another job as of June 30.
