LEWISTON — Edith Elizabeth (Perkins) Hunnewell, 97, of Oxford died Aug. 26, at the d’Youville Pavilion.

She was born in Oxford, July 6, 1914, the daughter of Merle M. Perkins and Olive Marcotte Perkins.

Betty married Ray C. Hunnewell on July 14, 1945. He passed away on Feb. 2, 1998. They lived in Mechanic Falls for many years before moving to Oxford.

She will be remembered for her gentle nature.

She is survived by sisters, Dorothy Perkins, Sarah Perkins and Ina Brown; brother, Thomas Perkins; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brothers, Harrison and Ray Perkins; and sisters, Ida McMorran and Elna Marsh.
