RUMFORD — A Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life of Rebecca Lynn Cushman was celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 26, at Parish of The Holy Savior. The Rev. Philip Tracy was the celebrant. The altar servers were George Gionet, Jacob Beauchesne, and Jonathan Adley. The Old Testament was proclaimed by Angela Cushman. The New Testament was proclaimed by Matthew Winston. Gift bearers were Curtis Gauvin, Katelyn Cummings, Samantha Cummings, Blayke Morin, Christopher, Sarah, and Ryan Bourret. Uncle Mark Paulin read a letter written by her Bestie, Hilary Getz, who is serving in the Navy, and also shared his own personal reflections. Aunt Michelle Walton gave the eulogy. Prior to the Mass, Uncle Mark Paulin sang “The Dance,” accompanied by Noel Palmer on the guitar. Other music selections were “Be Not Afraid,” “Sing a New Song,” “Amazing Grace,” and “Fly Like a Bird.” Honorary pallbearers were Becca’s sister, Stephanie Cushman, and stepsister, Lauren Calden. Active pallbearers were Matthew and Ryan Laubauskas, Nathan and Justin Staires, Ryan Bourret, John Lyle Calden, Caleb Gauvin, and Kyle Gauvin. Eucharist ministers were Katelyn and Samantha Cummings. Interment was in St. John Cemetery. Special music played was “Dirt Road Anthem,” by Jason Aldean, who Becca was to see in concert on Saturday in Chicago. A reception followed in the Parish Hall. Services were under the care and guidance of SG Thibault Funeral Home, 250 Penobscot St., Rumford.
