GREENE — Yvonne Jeanne North, 55, passed away peacefully at her home on the afternoon of Aug. 26, after graciously fighting a long battle with ALS. She was surrounded by her two daughters, family members and close friends. She drifted off to be with God while she enjoyed the warm sun on her face and the feel of the beautiful summer breeze.
Born Oct. 4, 1955, in New Haven, Conn., she was the daughter of Floyd Draper and Patricia Russell Draper. She graduated from West Haven High School in 1973 and the Hartford Institute of Accounting in 1975. She was previously employed at the former Pleasant Point and East Lee Steak House restaurants, and the Lee National and Legacy Banks in Lee, Mass.
She is survived by her mother, Patricia Draper, of Lewiston; her daughters, Melanie North and fiance, Keith Hartford, and Missy North-Drain and husband, Michael Drain. She also leaves four sisters and one brother, Debbie Sadenwater and husband, Patrick, Timothy Draper, Peggy Johnson and husband, Dave, Kimberly Long and husband, Dave, and Rachel Leighton; eight nieces and nephews, Crystal, Jeremy, Amanda, Zack, Megan, Lizzy, Colby, and Caleb; her former husband, Ed North; longtime companion, Tim Broderick; and many other beloved family members and friends, including her grandson/beagle, Tony.
She was predeceased by her father, Floyd Draper; her brother, Floyd Draper Jr.; and former in-laws, Milton and Madeline Sue North.
Yvonne will be remembered for her unique strength and integrity during such a difficult time. She loved life and her family above all. She IS an inspiration and role model and will be greatly missed, forever.
