LIVERMORE FALLS — RSU 73 directors voted Thursday to approve a calendar change at the Spruce Mountain Middle School as requested by Principal Scott Albert.
The change sets the dates for the end of trimesters during the 2011-12 school year.
It will give a fairer depiction of students’ grades with a larger time frame for grades to be recorded, especially in the fall when testing is required, Albert said.
Progress reports will still be put out in six-week periods.
The first trimester will end on Dec. 2, the second on March 9, and the third trimester will end at the end of the school year.
Directors from Jay, Livermore and Livermore Falls also approved several appointments including Mark Bonnevie to the position of administrative support assistant at Spruce Mountain Middle School, and Gavin Kane to the administrative support assistant at the north campus of the high school in Jay.
Other appointments include Suzanne Cole to the position of librarian at the high school in Livermore Falls; Chris Coro as math teacher at the high school in Jay; Denise Letalien to bus driver; Anna Whitney to bus driver; Travis Jalbert to health teacher at the high school in Livermore Falls; and Karen Quirrion to a secretary position split between Jay Elementary and Spruce Mountain High School in Jay.
