WOBURN, Mass. — Victory J. “Vicky” Gilbert, 65, of Woburn, Mass., formerly of Lewiston, passed away at her home on Sunday, Aug. 21, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
She was the beloved wife of Louis Gilbert.
Born and raised in Lewiston, she was the daughter of the late Van and the late Marjorie Burgess. Vicky, as she was known to family and friends, was an extremely talented country music and gospel singer and musician. Performing under the stage name “Vicky Jaimes,” Vicky and her husband, Louis, played together for many years in the Boston area in the 1980s and 90s, with the country band “Kim and the Country Boys, starring Vicky Jaimes.”
Vicky later performed with the Maine-based country band “The Cumberland Valley Boys, featuring Vicky Jaimes.” In addition to being a talented musician, she was also a talented artist and loved making crafts, which she often sold at her band’s performances. Most of all, Vicky’s greatest love was her family. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
In addition to her loving husband, Louis, Vicky is survived by two sons, Bruce and Eric Ross; and five daughters, Sarah Ross, Jessica MacKeen, Renee Johnson, Sharon Smith and Gina Altri. She is also survived by two brothers, James Burgess and Gary Bowden; and sisters, Joan Doherty, Priscilla Ouellette, Anne D’Angelo and Diane Ward. Vicky is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
