HARTFORD — Robert “Bob” Way, born in Bridgeport, Conn. on Jan. 17, 1952, finally went to hear the angels sing on Aug. 30, after a very long illness.

Bob married his high school sweetheart, Betsy Tucker, on Sept. 6, 1975. They had been happily married for 35 years. They both moved to Maine in 1973, and had two daughters, Jennifer Lyn and Sarah Elizabeth.

Besides his family, Bob loved to fish, hunt, and garden. While Bob had many health problems, in 2001 he was run over by a truck, which only intensified these problems. Before that, he worked for the town of Buckfield with his good buddy, Phil. After many years of driving a sales van for Lewiston Welding Supply, his health forced him to change jobs. He then started driving school buses for SAD 39, with all his good friends — and you all know who you are. Of his entire working career, he loved this job the most.

Bob leaves his wife, Betsy, and his daughters, Jen and Sarah, all of Hartford; his father, Robert, and sister of Pennsylvania; brother Rick and wife Kathy and children, of Connecticut; and other family members.

He was predeceased by his beloved mother, Jean; a nephew, John; and niece, Kelly.
