FARMINGTON — Franklin County commissioners will discuss a proposal to use part of a Freeman Township road for all-terrain vehicles to temporarily travel on to connect with a trail.
The discussion will begin at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, at the commissioners’ office at the Franklin County Courthouse.
Commissioner Clyde Barker of Strong brought the request from the Sandy River Riders All-Terrain Club to fellow commissioners in early August.
Commissioners set up the informational meeting to be held Tuesday.
The club wants permission for ATVs to temporarily use a portion of the 1.7-mile Cook Hill Road in Freeman Township to connect with The Moose Loop trail.
It connects Strong to Kingfield and other connecting trails throughout the area. Cook Hill Road is a dead-end road, Barker previously said.
The temporary use is needed due to parts of a trail being damaged, he said.
