Coach: Art Chamberlin (18th year)

Last year’s record:  10-4-1, lost in Western C quarterfinal.

Returning players:  Seniors —  Larissa Bryant (F), Alyssa Wade (MF), Paige Murphy (F), Miranda Shurtleff (MF), Mariah Larsen (FB); Juniors — Ambyr Wilson (ST), Silvia Lutick (F), Michelle Morrison (MF), Kayla Gaudin (FB), Natasha Deroche (G), Gretchen Bradbury (FB), Samantha Morse (FB), Addy Fuller (F), Natalie Bolduc (F); Sophomores — Lindsy Crutchfield (F), Bryce Parent (FB).

Key losses: Erin Turner (MF)

Promising newcomers: Senior — Dominique Flagg; Juniors — Jenn Smith, Casey Dumond; Sophomores — Destiny Newton, Krystal Blood, Sam Cote; Freshmen — Megan Bradbury, Gabby Scott, Tymeka Cheadle, Kaitlyn Morang, Tamyra Steward, Summer Keim.

Outlook: The Cougars return almost the entire team from last year, including an all-state player in Bolduc. Larsen missed all of last year because of an injury and she’s back. Dirigo should be strong on defense and has Deroche back in goal.  The offense should continue to evolve and make the Cougars one of the better clubs in the MVC. Dirigo has lost in penalty kicks in the last two tournaments and hope to get over that hurdle this year.

Coach’s comment:  “To go deeper into the playoffs this season, we will need to continue to play good defense and improve offensively. Our biggest challenge will be playing as a complete team to bring out the best from all of our athletes.” Coach Art Chamberlin.
