Returning players: Seniors — Nick Trenholm (MF), Kyle Brown (FB); Juniors — Drew McFarren (FB), Devin West (G), Russell Neal (MF); Sophomore — Kyle Fletcher (SK).
Key losses: Robbie Neal (G), Eric Columbe (SW), Tim Whitmore (SK), Jeremy Ashlock (MF).
Promising newcomers: Senior — Ben Woodman (SW); Freshman — Ben Bolstridge (FB).
Outlook: The Mustangs have a solid group returning and add 11 freshmen to the mix. Fletcher was an all-conference player and scored 20 goals last year. He is joined by Trenholm and Neal in the middle and Brown and McFarren in the back. West replaces Robbie Neal in goal. Monmouth is hoping to make great strides this season and be a factor in the playoff chase.
Coach’s comment: “We expect to compete at a high level within our conference. We look to improve upon the progress we showed last year. With West, Woodman, McFarren, Trenholm and Fletcher playing in the middle of the field, we should compete and challenge for a playoff berth.” — Coach Joe Fletcher.
