Portland Players Theater will present “Funny Girl,” the hit semibiographical musical based on the life and career of Broadway and film star/comedienne Fanny Brice, on Sept. 16 to Oct. 2. The play chronicles her stormy relationship with entrepreneur and gambler Nicky Arnstein, played by Mark Barrasso, above. With him is Cory Bucknam as Fanny Brice. The original production was nominated for eight Tony Awards and was made into a film starring Barbara Streisand. Show times are 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday; 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
