A Mass of Christian Burial was held for Romeo E. Bechard on Friday, Sept. 2, at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul with the Reverend Nathan March officiating. At the funeral home before Mass, Romeo’s nephew, Ron Bechard, delivered the eulogy and sang a song in his uncle’s memory about 9/11/2001. After the Mass, Military Honors were provided by The Maine Funeral Honors Program for Romeo’s military service in the Army during World War II. The American flag was presented to his great niece Candace Hathorne. The casket bearers were Ray Letourneau, Norm Guerrette, Romeo Lepage, Don Pelletier, Ray Ouellette and Al Theriault. A service of The Fortin Funeral Home, Cremation and Monument Services.
