LEWISTON — Felix C. Yurkston, 91, of Roger Avenue, Lewiston, died early Tuesday morning, Sept. 6, at the Marshwood Center, following a long illness.
He was born in Lewiston on July 7, 1920, the son of Paul J. and Anna B. (Grimmel) Yurkston. Mr. Yurkston had resided previously in Connecticut, where he was employed many years for Remington Arms as a staff worker.
Following retirement, he moved back to Lewiston, where he enjoyed bowling, spending time with his family and being an avid cat lover who was very passionate about his cats. He was an honorary member of both the First Auburn Senior Citizens and the Robin Dow Senior Citizens. He was also a very generous man who gave to his family, friends and to his favorite charities.
Survivors include two brothers, Allan York of Chicago, Ill., and Harold Phelps, of Lewiston; and one sister, Lucia H. Cowles, of Auburn. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by one brother, Paul Yurkston.
