PHILLIPS — The 14th annual Phillips Nine Hole Golf Scramble was held under partly sunny skies at Sandy River Golf Course in Farmington Falls recently. The $2,400 raised from the event will benefit the Phillips Public Library.
Sixteen teams competed for the first five place finishes. Matching card determined the final outcome.
First place, with a score of 27, were Pete Churchill, Rob Ward, John Maki and Skip Decker.
Second place, with a score of 28, were Marc Cloutier, Tina Cloutier, Roger Page and Jim Curran.
Third place, with a score of 28, were Daryl Howard, Doug Howard, Mark Henderson and Al Brisard.
Fourth place, with a score of 28, were Ron McAllister, Dennis McLaughlin, Les Phillips and Bob Brundage.
Fifth place, with a score of 30, were Gunnar Olson Jr. and Tollef and Leif Olson.
Closest to pins were: Dennis McLaughlin, 28 inches; Bob Brundage, 9.5 inches; Les Phillips, 8 feet, 10.75 inches; Reggie Rancourt, 20 feet, 1 inch; Gary LaGrange, 3 feet; Steve Pinkham, 8 feet; Ron McAllister, 24 inches; Bud Tremblay, 22 inches; and Gordie Davenport, 4 feet, 6 inches.
Other winners were Bradley Balduff, 50/50; Arlene Amos, Smiley; and Staci Ploq, Mulligan. Raffle winners were Jane Deeley, Gordon Davenport, Gary LaGrange, Bradley Balduff, Jason LaMore and Brenda Hiltz.
