DEAR SUN SPOTS: I’m hoping you can tell me what happened to the restaurant Little Dan’s BBQ, which was on Main Street in Lewiston across the street from Marden’s. Did they close completely or relocate somewhere else?

My husband and I had them cater our rehearsal dinner and dined at the restaurant a few times. The food was very good. Also, I was wondering if there is a way to get their cornbread recipe; this was the best cornbread I ever had! Thank you for all your help. — Sarah, Lewiston

ANSWER: Sun Spots found the following posted at www.littledansbbq.com: “Little Dan’s Restaurant has closed, but we’ll be back at a date yet to be determined. You can reach us at info@littledansbbq.com.”

Sun Spots emailed them asking for the cornbread recipe, but has not yet received a response. Most restaurants are reluctant to give out their secrets. If you can make it at home, why dine out?

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I read your column almost every day. You do a great job finding information on most everything. Would you find out for me who I would have to contact to set up a table at the Lewiston Mall? I’m not sure of the dates they do this. I’d really appreciate your doing this for me. — Mary via email

ANSWER: You can call the leasing office at 783-4701. The man Sun Spots spoke to said they do tables throughout the year but especially during the Christmas shopping season.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: What is happening with the proposed Hannaford store in Turner? — Roland L Morin, mrlmorin@aol.com

ANSWER: Sun Spots put your inquiry to reporter Kathryn Skelton, who has covered this issue in the past, and she had a short story in the paper on Sept. 8 (sunjournal.com/city/story/1084673). It said the Maine Supreme Judicial Court will hear oral arguments in an appeal aimed at stopping the construction on Oct. 14. Opponents of the store say it’s too big, among other issues.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I love your column, wish every paper had one like it. Early this summer you mentioned dental hygienists in local areas. I saw an ad for one in Oxford but have lost her name. Could you locate her for me? — B. Ringewald, Norway

ANSWER: Sun Spots is pleased to address the issue again. The letters she had on June 30 were about Main Street Dental Hygiene, 131 Main St., Mexico, ipdhmexico@aol.com, 364-1480.

She did find an Oxford clinic online that may be the one you are looking for: Brilliant Smiles Dental Hygiene in Oxford, 539-8188.

Other dental services in your area include Dr. Deanna Davis, The Art of Family Dentistry, 27 Green St., Norway, 743-8786, deanna42069@roadrunner.com, and Oxford Hills Dental, 232 Main St., Norway, 743-8002, oxfordhillsdental@yahoo.com, www.oxfordhillsdental.com

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I have something wrong with my computer and can’t send emails. I saw the letter from the man who said he volunteers his help to people, but he asked people to email him and I can’t. I hope he or someone else can help me. — Suzanne Doyon, Auburn, 782-2999

ANSWER: In addition to vecchio_3@yahoo.com, who said he volunteers his help to people, you might try David at 956-0604, who says his fees are very reasonable.
