Gerry Boivin, wife of Eugene Boivin, and his brother Arthur Boivin were on hand Friday for the lowering of beans into fire pits at the Rumford Information Center. The pits were built by Eugene Boivin and this is the first time they have been used since his death. The beans will be raised Saturday at 2 p.m. for a Taste of History Bean Hole Supper by the University of Maine Cooperative Extension and River Valley Healthy Community Coalition. The beans are being cooked by the Rumford Firemen’s Relief Association.
