PORTLAND — The Maine International Trade Center will feature a “Basics of Importing” program from 1 to 5 p.m. Sept. 22.

This is an essential overview of the import process, including an introduction to U.S. Customs and Border Protection requirements, procedures to import, harmonized tariff schedule and the duty classification process. Also provided is a primer on the chronological sequence of the import process, the basics regarding different modes of international logistics and commonly used Incoterms and terms of sale and payment.
