MANCHESTER, Maine (AP) — A Maine sheriff’s department says a 53-year-old woman was hurt when she lost control of her motorcycle during the United Bikers of Maine toy run in Manchester.

The Kennebec County Sheriff’s Department says 53-old Kathy Jesiolowski of Poland was taken by ambulance to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston Sunday with what was believed to be a serious head injury.

Her condition was not immediately available.

Sheriff’s Deputy Scott Mills tells the Kennebec Journal Jesiolowski was wearing a helmet.

Mills says Jesiolowski was part of a group of riders in a construction zone when the foot peg of a motorcycle in front of Jesiolowski hit an orange barrel and knocked it into her path. She was unable to avoid the barrel.
