AUBURN — Senior forward Lindsay Merrill scored the lone goal as Telstar grabbed a 1-0 victory over St. Dom’s in overtime in MVC field hockey action Monday.

Goalie Jenna Fongemie foiled 24 shots for the Saints (0-3-1), but Merrill’s conversion from Kallie Brown made it through in the overtime frame for the win.

The Rebels (1-2) notched their first victory of the season as goalie Hali Barter made four saves to earn the win in net.

EL 0, Mt. Ararat 0

AUBURN — Edward Little attacked Mt. Ararat with 14 shots on goal but could get nothing in the net as the two teams played to a 0-0 tie.

Mt. Ararat (0-1-3) goalie Raven Demasi turned away all 14 shots she faced. Her counterpart, Amanda Williams, did not let anything to get by, stopping all four shots that she faced.

Skowhegan 11, Lewiston 0

LEWISTON — Sarah Finnemore scored three goals to lead eight different scorers to pace Skowhegan to an 11-0 triumph over Lewiston in a Class A field hockey contest.

Finnemore opened the scoring with an unassisted goal less than nine minutes into the game. After an unassisted goal by Nicole Sevey, Finnemore found the back of the net to give the Indians a 3-0 halftime lead.

Skowhegan opened up the game with 8 second-half goals. Jessie Skillings, Sevey, Haley Holt, Michaela Michonski, Alli Lancaster, C.C. Lebel, Finnermore and Renee Wright rounded out the scoring for Skowhegan (5-0).

Ravon Palmer of Lewiston (1-2-2) worked hard in goal, stopping 93 shots as the Eagles outshot the Blue Devil’s 104-2. Ann Marie Provencal of Skowhegan stopped both shots she faced in the victory.

Mtn. Valley 2, Winthrop 2

WINTHROP — Nicole Burgess evened the score at 2-2 for Mountain Valley with four minutes remaining in regulation, and the Falcons held Winthrop scoreless through double overtime in MVC field hockey action Monday.

Whitney Ruff recorded a first half goal for the Falcons (2-1-1). Lauren Kaiser also notched a first half goal as the Ramblers (2-1-1) entered intermission tied at 1-1.

Goalie Emily Gallant made three saves for Mountain Valley, while goalie Alyssa Arsenault prevented 15 shots for Winthrop.

Lisbon 6, Dixfield 0

LISBON — Arianna Kahler and sophomore forward Hanna Jordan provided a pair of goals each as Lisbon blanked Dixfield 6-0 in MVC field hockey action Monday.

The Greyhounds (3-1) recorded three goals in each half. Angel Strout pitched in with two assists in the winning effort.

Goalie Betsy Noyes was extremely busy in net for the Cougars (0-4), making 27 saves for Dixfield.

Soccer

Oxf. Hills 1, Lewiston 0

LEWISTON — Debbie Eastman scored the only goal Oxford Hills would need as the Vikings clinched a 1-0 victory over Lewiston in KVAC girls’ soccer action Monday.

Goalie Emily Dixon had 16 saves for the Blue Devils (0-3), while goalie Breanna Martin turned away 11 shots to earn the win in net for Oxford Hills.

Poland 4, Fryeburg 2

POLAND — Junior foward Emma Turton recorded two goals and an assist to lead Poland to a 4-2 victory over Fryeburg in WMC girls’ soccer action Monday.

The Knights (1-3) scored two quick goals early in the second half for a 3-1 advantage. Emily Bolduc Bolduc and Anna Bolduc scored the two goals.

Jamie Gullickson scored both of the Raiders’ (0-1-2) goals.

Goalie Maggie McConkey made eight saves for Fryeburg, while goalie Brittina Maheux turned back eight to notch the win in net for Poland.

St. Dom’s 2, Wiscasset 0

AUBURN — Senior midfielder Dayle Jordan scored the eventual game-winning goal in the first half as St. Dom’s posted a 2-0 victory over Wiscasset in MVC girls’ soccer action Monday.

Caron provided assists on both goals.

Goalie Kasey Cromwell made 13 saves for the Redskins (2-1), while Mary Caron turned back five to earn the win in net for St Dom’s (2-1).
