LEWISTON — Arthur Patrick Chouinard, 76, of 75 Whipple St., died Monday, Sept. 12, at Central Maine Medical Center shortly after arrival.
He was born in Lewiston, Aug. 9, 1935, a son of the late Jean Baptiste and Cecile Nadeau Chouinard. He was educated in Lewiston schools.
Mr. Chouinard was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul and was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 106 Lewiston.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict and worked as a cook for various restaurant retiring from Bates College cafeteria.
He enjoyed playing shuffleboard, cards and gatherings with family and friends, and loved having his grandchildren around him and will be remembered for video taping movies and his humor.
He is survived by his wife, the former Lorraine Yvonne Levesque of Lewiston, whom he married June 11, 1955; six sons, Steven and companion, Linda Coffin, of Poland, Marc and wife, Brenda, of Auburn, James and wife, Edie, Larry and wife, Laurie, Michael and wife, Lisa and Gerald and companion, Ann, all of Lewiston; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and his brother, William Chouinard of Florida.
He was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy Chestnut; and a brother, Paul Chouinard.
