RUMFORD — Evangeline G. Breton, 97, of Pine Street, died Tuesday, Sept. 13, at Rumford Hospital following a brief illness, with loving family at her side.
She was born in Rumford, Dec. 12, 1913, a daughter of Peter J. and Ida (Fortier) Perry. Evangeline was educated in Rumford schools and was a graduate of Stephens High School, Class of 1933.
She was employed for several years at Irish’s Market on Pine Street. She married Raymond L. Breton in June 1937, and together they celebrated 39 years of marriage. He passed away on Jan. 23, 1976.
Evangeline was a communicant of Parish of the Holy Savior. She enjoyed doing quilting and dancing.
The family will remember her as the best mother and memere in the world.
Surviving are her children, Carol I. Crumlish and husband, Robert, of Woodbury, N.J., David R. Breton and wife, Gloria, of Rumford and Albert R. Breton and wife, Diane, of Rumford; a brother, Arthur Perry of Mexico; seven grandchildren, Kevin, Keith, Barry, Michelle, Chad, Eric and Adam; and four great-grandchildren, Amber, Evan, Noah and Lauren.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Raymond l. Breton; a granddaughter, Erica; two sisters, Lorraine and Irene; and seven brothers, Rene, Willie, Alton, Raymond, Roland, Alfred and Clifford.
