AUBURN — Sylvio W. Martin, 65, of Auburn and formerly of Lewiston died on Sunday, Sept. 11, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin.

He was born in St. Agathe, Jan. 10, 1946, the son of Albanie J and Arline (Cyr) Martin and had been a resident of this community most of his life.

Sylvio owned and operated several area social clubs until his retirement. He will best be remembered as a people person.

He is survived by one son, Michael W. Martin of Norway; one daughter, Sherry Methorst of Wales; one brother, Gordon Martin of Lewiston; one sister, Geraldine Fecteau of Auburn; eight grandchildren; and his fiance, Rhonda Getchell of Auburn.

He was predeceased by his wife, the former Judith A. (McKinney) Martin; and his daughter, Evelyn A. Belanger.
