LEWISTON — Niky’s, a Greek restaurant that’s been closed since a tragic July fire, plans to reopen by Oct. 4 in a new downtown location.
The restaurant is moving from 30 Lowell St. to 29 Lisbon St., the former home of Antonio’s New York Deli & Bakery.
Niky’s closed abruptly on July 21, after a fireball from a gas oven severely burned co-owner Niky Karamousadakis. She underwent treatment at Massachusetts General Hospital for second- and third-degree burns on her upper body, particularly on her left arm.
While she continues her recovery, her husband, Manolis, is renovating the former deli and bakery to include a bar and seating for 50 people.
The couple plans to expand their Greek and American lunch items to include a full dinner menu as well.
