WATERFORD — Police on Wednesday were looking for a man they believe stole a dirt bike from a Buckfield home in July.
The motorcycle was recovered over the weekend and three Waterford residents were charged with receiving stolen property.
Alicia Carman, 24, Keith R. Hodgkin, 28 and Randy L. Miller, 22, each was charged with receiving stolen property, a Class C offense, after the motorcycle was found in the farmhouse where they were staying.
Sgt. Timothy Ontengco of the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office said Cpl. Holli Pullen of the Norway police received a tip last week on the motorcycle’s location.
When police arrived, the three residents denied the bike was in the house. “They didn’t have any recollection of any motorcycles at all,” Ontengco said.
A subsequent search found it hidden inside the house. The dirt bike was easy to identify. The red and white Honda CRF-250R had been customized by its owner.
Ontengco said the three knew the bike was stolen and that there are “more arrests pending.” The person who stole the bike is still at large, Ontengco said. “That person knows that we’re looking for him. The chase is on, so to say.”
