AUBURN — Former Water District Trustee Tim Doughty is hoping to claim Auburn’s Ward 4 City Council seat with a write-in campaign.

“I just think this city is busted and nobody is doing anything about it,” said Doughty, 64, of 75 Cherry Vale Circle. “I want to get in and ask the tough questions that I think need to be asked.”

Doughty served on the Auburn Water District until 1996 and sat as the board’s chairman for a time. He’s a critic of the operations and management at Auburn Hall and of the way tax assessments have been handled.

“I’ve brought these things to the council before, and nothing has happened,” he said. “I’ve tried to work through channels. Now it’s time to try something else.”

To cast ballots for Doughty, Ward 4 voters must write his name and street address on the ballot and fill in the bubble.
